Frequently Asked Questions

"I registered online, now what?"

You will receive a confirmation letter in the mail (regular mail, NOT email) towards the end of September.

So how big will this year's conference be?

We are limiting this conference to 1,200. Our conferences always fill up, so register early.

How long do I have to register?

Registration will end as soon as we fill up.

"Can I attend just one day?"

Of course, however you must pay for both days. This conference has limited seating and we are unable to offer one day registrations.

"Can I record the conference?"

Sorry, no recording devices or photography is permitted.

"So who is this conference for?"

This conference is recommended for law enforcement, educators, social service workers, probation/parole, corrections and other professionals. Former gang members and those with a criminal record are not permitted to attend. Applicants mahy be subject to a background check. If you're unsure, please contact us prior.

"What do I need to bring?"

Photo Identification is required at the door. Notetaking material is suggested. As the conference date nears, we will post a suggested packing list.

"Can my spouse attend?"

Vegas has many free attractions for both spouses and children. However, they are not permitted in the conference room.

"My department does not have training funds avalable, do you offer scholarships?"

At this time we do not. Many people attending the training do so on their own to enhance their knowledge, for career advancement and for networking opportunities. Many employers will let their employees attend on duty time if they feel the instruction will enhance their career. Some departments seek sponsorship from local businesses for their registration and travel expense. Remember, we offer the lowest registration fee than any private or government training organization with the nation's top instructors.

"Is the conference P.O.S.T. certified?"

Law enforcement agencies from thoughout the nation have been sending officers to this conference for several years to meet their annual training hours requirements. California P.O.S.T. will not reimburse your department for your travel expenses or registration fee. Although the course has been approved for continuing education credits and the majority of our instructors are already CA P.O.S.T. certified instructors, California P.O.S.T. does not reimburse for courses held out of state and in resort type areas.

"Will I get a certificate if I attend?"

Yes, you will receive a certificate showing 16-hours of training. Most use their certificate to fulfill their profession's annual requirements for continuing education credits.

"What makes this conference different from other gang training opportunities?"

Well several things. As many other training providers raise their conference tuition (ranging from $250 - $700) ours has remained the same. $200 per person (and as low as
$170 for our occasional online specials ). If you have attended other gang training events, you've probally heard the same "Crips wear blue and this is why they are called Crips" type presentations. Yes, we agree understanding the history and identification of various gangs is important, but we strive to give you information and techniques that you can take back and put to use that next day when you return to work.
