During summer school Warnock stood on a cafeteria table with his gun and fired one shot into the ceiling.
He then held a female classmate hostage and ordered her to get up on the stage. She froze and classmates began to run from the cafeteria. He also fled and turned himself in from his grandparents' home the next day.
Before the incident he told he told several classmates, "You don't have to worry about school anymore. Today's your last day of school,''
